Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Optiflow Junior wins 4 TVNZ Marketing Awards
The Infant Care team at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare are a very talented bunch of marketers - and the judges agreed giving them 4 awards and finalists in 9 categories. La Roche Design was the design partner on this Optiflow Junior work so we were equally proud and excited by these awards.
Wakatipu High School
Our daughter attends Wakatipu High School so I was keen to help give their old logo a much-needed overhaul.
The words on the old logo were too small which generally resulted in the words being repeated beside or underneath in various different fonts and formats. The new logo has a more accurate representation of the Remarkables and presents the wording in a more balanced and credible format. This new logo coincided with the school's new uniform which is now being worn with pride by many.
Arrowtown 150th Anniversary
Arrowtown recently celebrated its 150th anniversary since gold was discovered. I was happy to help out for such a worthy celebration which saw the entire community get involved.
I managed to find a great photo of 'quintessential' gold panner in the Arrowtown museum and reillustrated him for this logo. It was a great event and we were proud to be involved.

Our NZ Flag entry
For over a decade I have been supporting the push to change New Zealand's flag. As a visual person, I find the current flag resembles nothing of our beautiful and unique country.
Sadly this year we wasted our opportunity to gain a flag that's unique, inspirational and memorable, but the process was fascinating and I enjoyed entering my design into the mix.
Here's a video which tells the story behind my design... the white clouds and waves forming on our coastline... the silver fern with korus to reflect our culture...bright blues and greens that reflect our beautiful bush, countryside and waterways.

Our son attends Arrowtown School, and we offered to help out with refining their logo. The existing logo had the "right bones" and since a complete revamp was not justified... a simple rejig of the heirachy of copy and a modernisation of the fonts has improved it immensely.

Remarkable Vets

Geoff and the lovely team at Remarkables Vets needed to refine their logo. The decision was made to drop the mountains and place more emphasis on the animals and name, while still keeping the main flavour of the logo.

Big Art Night Out
For many years I volunteered on the Mt Eden Primary PTA, helping establish the successful Annual Art Auction.
Queenstown Rangers Ice Hockey
New uniforms were being ordered for the Queenstown Rangers so it was great timing to tidy up the logo and make it more readable and more in line with the traditional Queenstown colours of blue & yellow.
2018 Ice Hockey U18 World Championship
Queenstown Ice Hockey club and the NZIHF are hosting this fantastic tournament in Queenstown so I helped out with the branding.
The logo had to fit in with strict IIHF brand guidelines, but we still managed to incorporate some strong kiwi flavour.
The Akarua Arrowtown Autumn Festival
Melissa at APT Design has worked tirelessly for many years on the Arrowtown Autumn Festival designwork, but in 2017 it was time for another designer to "do their bit"... So we have taken on this task as our chance to give back to this great community we live in.
We have taken Melissa's well recognised and gorgeous "Festival tree" and given it a fresh look across all the promotional material for this fantastic community event.
